KETA:
Prez. Mills empathizes with flood victims in Keta municipality

The President of Ghana, John Evans Atta-Mills has assured victims of flood hit communities in the Keta Municipality of his government’s
preparedness to assist them as their activities have been halted by flood waters.

About 35 communities in the Keta Municipality and the communities on the Eastern boundary with South Tongu have all been cutoff;
bringing economic activities to a standstill.

School pupils, farmers, drivers and fishermen are stranded as they
cannot get to their destinations due to the impassable nature of the roads.

Residents however, breath a sign of relieve as the president donated
items including; blankets, clothing, bags of rice, maize, beans, galloons of cooking oil, lanterns, detergents, plastic bowls and many more.

Earlier, the President has visited other communities in the North Tongu and Adaklu Anyigbe districts which have also been severely affected by the floods.

Addressing the community in a mini durbar at Bleamezado in the Keta Municipality, the President Mills reiterated that government will do everything possible to relief them from their present predicament and make life bearable to all.

Responding to the president’s gesture, the chief and the people of Bleamezado and its surrounding communities thanked the president for his prompt attention to the flood affected areas.
